VOLUNTEER WITH YOUTH

Reading Buddy or Tutoring Elementary Students: Volunteer anytime Monday to Thursday for one or two 45-minute blocks from 4 – 6 pm

Tutor teens: Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:30 pm, we work with our teen scholars to help them succeed academically in all subjects.

Present at Community Time: Every day at our After School Center, all students gather for Community Time. We’d love to have you present on a topic of your STEM education expertise, a Bible message, academic lessons, or a musical performance.

Host New City Kids at Your Home or Cottage: We have been grateful for our partners who have welcomed us to their homes or lakeside cottages over the years. Whether it’s a Staff or Teen Life Internship retreat or outing day for students, the hospitality of our supporters is greatly appreciated!

Volunteer to Support New City Kids

Sponsor a meal for the day by sending in a donation, order take out and have it delivered or make it at home & drop off.  Sign up at www.newcitykids.org/grmeals

Host a Snack Drive: Could your office, church, classroom or small  group host a snack drive to help us provide individually packaged snacks for our students after school? We serve approximately 100 youth each day after school. This is a great way to involve an entire group!

Share your Profession: We are looking for professionals who can help us expose youth to different career paths. We can bring a group to you or invite you to our “Professional Speed Dating” day which is a career fair for high school students to learn about both college degree fields as well as skilled trades options.

Supply Senior Baskets: We have 15 seniors graduating this year and we are looking for volunteers to create graduation baskets to bless our grads by May 10. You can do one or all 15! This is a great opportunity for a family or a small group to bless the teens of New City.

Organize a Service Day for Your Group: New City Kids is looking for both skilled and unskilled volunteers of all ages to assist with several projects. We have both indoor and outdoor needs, some require experience with tools and the ability to lift heavy objects.  From painting classrooms to yardwork or cleaning out the kitchen, we can schedule it for a time that’s convenient for your team. Plus, families are welcome to bring the entire crew to serve!

Join the Building Maintenance Team! Are you a retiree or a person with extra time who can support our ongoing maintenance needs? Join the team who comes to New City Kids during the day on a schedule that works for you to help us with daily building maintenance projects.

Host a Friendraiser! Would you like your circle of friends or coworkers to know about the amazing things happening with youth in our city? Consider inviting them for a dinner or dessert at a location of your choice and we will provide the food and share the vision of New City of loving kids for change and share ways to get involved.
