Capital Campaign

Our Four Goals:

Serve 50% More Children

5 classrooms increasing capacity by 35 children during Summer Camp and After School Center. This will also enable us to offer up to 3 additional class offerings for both After School center and summer Camp. The renovations and building will also create 3 new offices for administrative and programming staff to use as we grow.

Care And Support For Our Staff

Creating the staff house will not only save $43,000 per year, but will provide our employees with a community of other passionate, like-minded people. Owning a house will invest in the local community by planting the New City staff in the area in which they serve and live, supporting New City’s vision of bringing holistic long-term change to the streets of Jersey City.

Engage Volunteers And Partners

Engage churches and other partners in meaningful volunteer opportunities centering around rehabilitating and renovating our new housing and classroom spaces. These volunteers often become partners and strengthen our donor base.

Renovate And Upgrade Facilities

As we move forward we need to address long overdue issues like an aging asphalt parking lot, leaking roof, stained and ratty carpet, and long outdated phone system. Our performance space needs better lighting and sound systems to help our kids shine. Finally, the music school desperately needs sound-proofing between classrooms.

We have an incredible opportunity for growth

Our first steps to serving more kids:

Purchase a house in the neighborhood around New City to provide housing for our adult staff and interns.

Renovate our current building to provide 2 additional classrooms and much needed office space.

Where we are now…

Phase 1: $145,000 REACHED !
Where we are: $27,000/$200,000

New City Kids is launching a Capital Campaign over the next three years that will allow us to serve more children and teens in Jersey City and change the course of their lives forever…

A family foundation with a long standing history with New City has agreed to match every dollar raised, immediately multiplying all gifts towards this project.

Due to many generous gifts we have met our goals for Phase 1!  To date we have raised nearly $150,000. These gifts allowed us to close on the staff ministry house by our target date of December 15th, 2013.  We are so grateful for all who have helped us meet this goal!

Please consider joining us as we move on to Phase 2 of our plan to expand our facilities and reach more children.
