About College and Career Readiness

Our high school students are prepared academically, professionally, and socially to make a successful transition from high school to college or other post-secondary career paths.

SAT classes, college essay writing assistance, and setting up campus visits or apprenticeships are only a few examples of how teens are supported throughout this process. College tours allow students to envision themselves on a college campus and interact with both college administrators and current students.

College Tour

New City Kids hosts a one-week college tour for high school juniors living in under-resourced communities. For many of our teens, this is the first time they will step foot on a college campus or travel more than five miles from their home. Students are exposed to multiple types of colleges in order to broaden their knowledge of what's possible and envision themselves in a new place to thrive.
